TRAINING ON PROFESSIONAL WRITING SKILLS
PREAMBLE

Most of the high level professionals represent various organizations commonly share the problem of lack of professional writing skill competency of their workforce. The need is even greater in the project-based organizations, especially in the non-government sector as most of their jobs are dependent on professional writing skills. In response to this situation, Edify Center for Professional Development has developed a forty-hour training program on professional writing skills.
 
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

This training program intends to:
  • improve general English writing skills - citation and referencing, wordiness and structure correction, grammar and composition – among the participants,
  • build general understanding of the use of various contemporary terminologies across the national and cross-cultural diversity,
  • provide necessary support to enhance the professional writing skill competencies of the working professionals in different project organizations,
  • equip the fresh graduates with necessary skill competencies to develop their career in the field of professional writing,
  • improve the professional writing skill competencies of the researchers in diverse specializations, and
  • enhance the understanding and application of empirical facts in organizational communication system.
 
INTENDED PARTICIPANTS

The intended participants of this training program include working professionals representing various development organizations from non-government sector, business professionals, fresh graduates willing to pursue careers in the field of professional writing, early researchers in different specializations. In addition, the working professionals specializing project implementation, monitoring and evaluation will greatly benefit from this training. Especially, the NGO/INGO-based project staff will gain a lot of inputs to improve their professional writing skill competency through of this program.

  Day 11   Writing for additional information   Asking for clarifications
  Day 12   Communicating bad news or adverse message   Communicating good news
  Day 13   Preparing notices   Preparing for bill board information
